Charlie Fletcher is an experienced musician, teacher and arts professional who has taught in both formal and informal education settings. Before moving across to the arts in 2005 he had a successful career in business and IT. Since then he has worked with 1000's of young people and adults across Hampshire on a range of creative activities and in 2008 completed a Post Graduate Diploma in World Music Studies - during which he had the opportunity to visit The Gambia to observe local musicians and conduct fieldwork in local schools. Charlie is the Mestre for Big Noise Community Samba Band and has delivered several  percussion workshops at IRC. He is also the Director of The Urban Vocal Group which he founded in 2008 with the aim of providing an opportunity for young people who had an interest in singing to come together outside of school and share their passion. 7 years on the UVG is one of the most successful free to access singing group in England.
