We can offer the following volunteering opportunities:

Workshop Assistants

*Please note we have recently completed a recruitment drive for this position so there are currently no spaces for new volunteer workshop assistants. However if you are interested in the position and would like to be considered in the future please email us and we would be happy to keep your name on file to be contacted for future recruitment rounds.

We need volunteers to help out at music workshops in detention centres and local communities. If you’re a musician, your role might be to support the artists by encouraging people to participate or coaching a small group. We also need help with non-musical but essential support tasks in workshops, like evaluation and record-keeping – though these are participatory workshops, so we like everyone to join in! If you’re interested, email us for more information.

Programme Assistants

*Please note there are currently no spaces for new volunteer programme assistants. However if you are interested in the position and would like to be considered in the future please email us and we would be happy to keep your name on file to be contacted for future recruitment rounds.

We sometimes need help in the office with the many tasks involved in co-ordinating MID’s work. Volunteers have helped us with communications work, evaluation, programme administration and other invaluable tasks. We have a very small and friendly staff team and can be flexible in finding tasks to suit volunteers’ individual interests and strengths. This is also a chance to get involved in a variety of ways behind the scenes, and find out how an organisation like MID works. We don’t always have vacancies but if you’re interested, we’d love to hear from you – so email us!
