Please note: See Me Smiling (Never Keep Me Down), I Don't Know, Grind and Mind-Blowing contain some explicit language.

The album consists of 6 tracks and was created over four workshop days.

The first two days were led by Emmanuel the Magnificent and Shammi Pithia in October 2019. Sally Jaquet, the MID Project Co-ordinator at the time, joined the sessions and her vocals are featured on the first track of the album

'See Me Smiling (Never Keep Me Down)'

I Don't Know

Morton Hall IRC: 2019-20

'I Don't Know' is a reflection of how well the artists created cohesion in the group combining stories told through rap and traditional Roma melodies.

The translared Romani text is:

When I went to the world

I saw your eyes

I see I die oh God

What Can I do

Oh my mother where are you

All alone, Oh Mum I can see your Heart

I'm asking you God what can I do.

Grind

Morton Hall IRC: 2019-20

The third track 'Grind' was created during the October workshops and has a really polished finish; this is thanks to some clever wordplay in the raps and great post-production and mastering by our MID artist Shammi Pithia.

Duj Duj

Morton Hall IRC: 2019-20

'Duj Duj' is a traditional Roma song which Joseph plays here and combines with other songs in a similar style. The rest of the group accompany him with a variety of percussion instruments.

A Me Na Paciaw

The Romani words - 'A Me Na Paciaw' - can be heard in the chorus of the next track on the album and is believed to be a song written by Joseph himself. It is accompanied by some gentle percussion from the rest of the group.
